Our opinion: The Boscolo Hotel Leon d'Oro takes its rightful place in the long tradition hospitality of Verona. The luxury entrance of the hotel takes you into a refined and light-filled lobby graced by columns of pale marble and chandeliers of Murano glass. A classic elegance in perfect keeping with Verona itself. This well established hotel is located just outside the main town centre, but at a walk able distance to the station and also to Piazza Bra (although we would recommend taking the regular buses as it can take twenty minutes). It is efficiently run and offers a good standard of accommodation including a very pleasant restaurant and lounge. Bedrooms are decorated in a traditional style, as are the public areas. During opera season the hotel offers a shuttle service to and from the Arena. Extra information: Hotel offers a free shuttle to and from the Arena (specific timetable available in hotel). Cancellation: made later than 17.00hrs (UK time) 3 days before arrival will be charged full stay between 15 June and 31 August 2006.
