Marry the romantic city of Venice with the Grandeure of La Fenice and you have the perfect combination. The Teatro Verde is Venice’s open air theatre situated on the Isola di San Giorgio Maggiore in Venice's lagoon directly in sight of St. Mark's Square. The theatre is located in the middle of the island’s beautiful cypress garden and in the Spring of 2007, the Teatro Verde on San Giorgio Maggiore will awaken from its long sleep and celebrate the time-defying splendour of Strauss’s ‘A Night in Venice’. Teatro La Fenice ("The Phoenix") is the opera house in Venice. It is one
of the most famous theatres in Europe, the site of many famous operatic
premieres. Its name reflects its role in permitting an opera company to
"rise from the ashes" despite losing the use of two theatres (to fire
and legal problems respectively). Since opening and being named La
Fenice, it has twice burned and been rebuilt.
